Default R/N no vampiric touch?

Would this speculative build be good for pve?
Its speuclative and im not going to figure out the full points.

Expertise: a Little bit.
Death Magic: Good amount
Markmanship: between little to good
Beast Mastery: betwen little to good

Like, im thinking being a ranger with a pretty strong dire pet, while throwing out minions, but still having decent power with the bow. Is this possible to be efficient in PvE and maybe pvp?

Fun? Maybe, but running minions on any non-necro profession (well, except a ritualist maybe) is inneficient and generally not a good idea. Since spells like minion summoning spells are not effected by expertise and therefore too energy heavy for a Ranger to be able to use well.

It'd be better with a necro specing in beast mastery and bringing a dire pet

Agreed with ca aok. It wouldn't be very efficient but as a fun build it would work better on a Necro Primary because of more energy.

QFT!

Anyway, Death Magic isn't all minions you know. Pinned Down + Virulence (e) for example.

If you don't have 12 into Marksmanship or Beastmastery, then you don't get the full affect from your pet or your bow (let alone skills from them).

Mark of Pain + Dual Shot was fun until /Rit's found something better...

To Answer the OP... Running minions on anything other than a Necromancer Primary isn't really effective at all. There are few fun niche builds here and there... well just in the Rits section... but if you want to run minions, you pretty much are limited to playing a N/ and not a /N.

Low expertise = bad energy.

Maybe something along the lines of [skill]barbed arrows[/skill] with [skill]virulence[/skill] would work.
